Terms & Conditions


All prices shown on the website are in £ sterling, exclusive of delivery charges. You may pay by any major credit or debit card excluding American Express and Diners Club. We are under no obligation to accept your order. Prices, offers and products are subject to availability and may change at any time.


Payment for goods must be made prior to despatch. We accept credit/debit cards and cheques made payable to Universal Essences Ltd. We will not be held responsible for the late despatch of goods due to a payment being declined.

Postage & Packing

The cost of P&P is dependent on the size of your order. Prices are published on the front page of our webshop. P&P for orders to be delivered outside the UK and Northern Ireland are displayed upon check-out of your order. Packets/parcels less than 2kg will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd class post. Packets/parcels over 2kg may be sent by Royal Mail 1st Class post or by courier at our discretion.


Orders paid will be despatched within two working days (stock permitting). Parcels despatched by courier will require a signature upon delivery. If you will not be at the address specified, during normal office hours, please advise us of a suitable time for delivery or an alternative delivery address where someone will be available to sign for the receipt of your parcel. If you request special delivery instructions where you are unable to sign for the goods, Universal Essences Ltd will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to the goods, therefore you, as the customer, will be responsible for the loss or damage. Please allow two working days for parcels arriving by courier. Please allow up to 14 days for delivery of your parcel. If you do not receive your parcel after 14 days, please email essences@universalessences.com or telephone 0844 854 2929 (local rate).

Distance Selling

Under the Distance Selling Regulations, all UK customers have the right to cancel orders placed through the website within seven working days of their receipt of the goods.

Returns / Refunds

Universal Essences Ltd is unable to refund or exchange any products that have already been opened. We may, at our discretion, refund or exchange a product if notified immediately upon receipt that it is unsuitable, however we are not obliged to do so. Universal Essences Ltd will not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to goods returned to us via Royal Mail or Courier Service until they are received at our registered office 35a Ayling Lane, Aldershot, Hants GU11 3LZ and we strongly recommend that returns are sent by Recorded Delivery or some other means of a tracked delivery system. Please note we do not refund postage/carriage on goods returned except where goods have been incorrectly despatched or damaged in transit. Once we have received the goods in a resaleable condition, a refund for the cost of the products only, will be made to your credit/debit card. If your goods are damaged in transit please notify us within three days of receipt. If the goods were received by courier, the signatory must, when signing for the goods, state they are damaged.
